Business Owners Asked To Help Employees Get Vaccinated

Chatham-Kent Economic Development and Small Business Centre is asking every business across the municipality to make it easy for employees to get their COVID-19 vaccines, when the time comes.

CK Public Health officials are pointing out some people are concerned about trying to get their shots during business hours.

Director Stuart McFadden is asking businesses to make sure employees have the time required to get the vaccine for their safety, their families’ safety, and the health of the community.

“I’ve been talking with officials from Public Health and we know that every shot in the arm gets us one step closer to making COVID a thing of the past and to fully re-open our economy,” Stuart McFadden, Director of Chatham-Kent Economic Development says. “To all of the businesses across Chatham-Kent, we need your help in making sure your employees feel they are given the time they require to get the vaccination at their scheduled appointment time.”

Public Health experts warn of a potential third wave and possible third lockdown if safety measures, including vaccinations, are not followed.

“The message for people is simple: follow the Public Health guidelines and get the vaccine. We’re just asking employers to accommodate their staff so they can get the shot,” McFadden says.

Those now eligible for the vaccination are invited to call 519-351-1010 to book an appointment at the clinic located at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre, 565 Richmond Street in Chatham. Simply leave a message for CK Public Health staff and they will return your call with an appointment time.
