Local speculation has been that the winner is aware but is trying to keep their winning ticket safe and secure since the OLG office is closed through the pandemic. Many Wallaceburg residents also suggest the winner is from Wallaceburg.
For safety protocol, reps for the OLG tell 99.1 the ticket holder sign the ticket, keep it in a safe place (perhaps a safety deposit box at a bank) and contact the OLG Support Centre by phone if they have any concerns or questions.
