C-K’s Second COVID-19 Death, 11 New Cases On Wednesday

CK Public Health is reporting Chatham-Kent’s second COVID-19 related death. A C-K resident in her 50s has reportedly passed away at Windsor hospital.
Chatham-Kent also has 11 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday.
The active case load has increased to 77 with 74 self-isolating and 3 in hospital.
The total local case load is now at 299. 247 of those cases are connected to “close contact” transmission with 16 cases considered travel-related.
Chatham-Kent had 40 additional new cases reported over the long weekend.
As has been discussed online, Chatham-Kent currently has the highest number of weekly cases per 100,000 people in the country.
The local Support Mandatory Masks for Chatham-Kent group will present their petition to Dr. David Colby and C-K Council this coming Monday night, asking for mandatory face masks in public spaces throughout C-K.
Ontario reported 86 new cases across the province on Wednesday. That’s the third straight day under 100.
