A local man is facing impaired driving charges after improperly using a turning lane in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers spotted a vehicle travelling in a dangerous manner on Friday at around 10:30 p.m. when it used a turning lane to travel straight through the Grand Avenue and St. Clair Street intersection.
Police stopped the vehicle near the intersection of James Street at Victoria Avenue, and the driver was arrested after showing signs of impairment. He was taken to police headquarters for further tests.
A 21-year-old Camden Township man is now charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was later released and will answer the charges in court next month.
