Canada Day Plans In The Works

With a number of Chatham residents disappointed over this year’s Canada Day festivities in the Maple City, a group of volunteers has come together to ensure the country’s 150th birthday gets the recognition it deserves. canadian flag

Chris Glassford is leading the charge after seeing things start to slip the last few years. “I said we can’t keep doing this. It’s going to be 150 years for 2017, so someone needs to take some action,” Glassford says. “About a month before this year’s Canada Day I called Parks and Rec and pre-booked Tecumseh Park and found a committee.”

Glassford says next year’s event will have something for everyone with a focus on multiculturalism, and he’s excited to see the plans unfold.
