A word of warning from the OPP as Canada Road Safety Week begins.
Authorities say they will be highly visible in their efforts to keep roads safe, but are hoping drivers will be on their best behaviour.
58 people have been killed on OPP-patrolled roads in the first five months of this year, but police say that’s actually good news, with the numbers down from 97 during the same period in 2018.
Almost half of those have been attributed to speed, alcohol or drug use, inattentive driving, and a lack of seat belt use.
