Area residents should expect to see and hear an emergency alert on their devices on Wednesday, however, it will only be a test.
Canada’s Alert Ready system will be conducting a scheduled test throughout Ontario on Wednesday at 12:55 p.m.
The alert will be distributed on TV, radio and wireless devices.
Alert Ready is the National Public Alerting System that delivers critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians about tornadoes, flooding, fires and amber alerts, among others.
