Candle-Lit Concert To Celebrate Black History Month

An upcoming musicial event in celebration of Black History Month in Chatham-Kent promises to be a blend of narrative and melody.

The concert entitled Stand By Me will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church in Chatham on February 15 at 7 p.m., featuring the talents of Marque Smith, Denise Pelley, and local vocalist Camryn Dudley.

Illuminated by 500 candles, the Performing Arts concert will celebrate Black music and its influence.

The event will also be narrated by Shannon and Bryan Prince of North Buxton, who are known for their research and presentations about their community’s history.

Everyone is welcome to attend the show, which will be accepting monetary donations at the door. All funds will go towards the music program at St. Andrew’s.
