Canniff says he wants to see Chatham-Kent grow and prosper.

“They want to see change and we need change,” Canniff says. “We need to progress forward, we live in a fantastic community but it could be better, we haven’t met our potential.”

The local businessman and current Ward 6 councillor plans to reduce the government red tape facing special event organizers and news businesses who want to help the community grow.

“We need to enable people to be successful,” Canniff explains. “If the municipality could eliminate barriers to success, we will be able to take it to the next level.”

Canniff is running against Alysson Storey for the mayor’s seat.

Incumbent Randy Hope has declared his intention to run for re-election, but has yet to file the necessary paperwork.

Chatham-Kent residents head to the polls October 22nd.
