Canoe and Kayaks Ready to Hit the Sydenham

Paddlers compete during the Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race in 2017.

Dozens of boats will be taking to the water this weekend for the Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race.

Saturday’s event, a partnership between the St Clair Region Conservation Authority and the St Clair Region Conservation Foundation, raises money for conservation education programs within the St Clair Region watershed and awareness about the unique natural features and recreational opportunities on the Sydenham.

The race features 11 classes and three different race lengths for both competitive and recreational paddlers.

Boats will hit the water at Mosside Road just west of Country Road 79, finishing at the Shetland Conservation Area located on Lambton County Road 2.
