The St. Clair Catholic District School Board will be building two new schools in Chatham over the next few years, and last night trustees approved the site for one on McNaughton Ave West.
However, Director of Education Dan Parr says finding a location in the south end of the city is proving to be more of a challenge.
“We’re continuing to do research to present to the board of trustees a series of recommended options,” says Parr. “That involves working with the municipality, private land owners, none of them are at the place that enables the board to make a decision.”
About 560 students are expected to attend the north side school once it opens, likely in the fall of 2019.
