A special celebration is being held at libraries across Chatham-Kent next week.
Tuesday, January 27 is Family Literacy Day, raising awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family.
Officials say taking time every day to read or do a learning activity with children is crucial to a child’s development.
A number of Stay & Play activities are being held at branches across the municipality, focusing on family mealtime themed activities, such as grocery list scavenger hunts, literacy games, and stories to share around the dinner table.
You can see the full schedule of Literacy Day events and activities on the Chatham-Kent Public Library website at ckpl.ca.
