A special tea ceremony is being held later this month, celebrating Japanese culture and baseball.
Forever Steeped on King Street East in Chatham will be welcoming four members of the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers the afternoon of Tuesday, July 28 from 1-3pm. Mizuki Akatsuka, Ryoya Oe, Yushin Ohta, and Yuri O’Connor-Yokoyama will be on hand for a public meet and greet and tea tasting.
Organizers say visitors will be able to take photos with the players, chat with them about their experiences playing baseball in Canada, and enjoy an afternoon of Japanese culture.
Forever Steeped will feature a handcrafted Japanese Matcha Latte and offer tastings of an assortment of rare and premium Japanese teas, including its exceptional Gyokuro, one of Japan’s most prized green teas.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to connect our community with both the Barnstormers and Japanese tea culture,” said Joe Mooney, owner of Forever Steeped. “We’re excited to welcome the players and invite everyone to stop by, say hello, and experience some incredible Japanese teas.”
The event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
