The Chatham-Kent Public Library is turning up the volume for Ontario Public Library Week with this year’s theme: “Loud for Libraries.”
Ontario Public Library Week runs from October 18th through 24th.
On Wednesday, October 21st, the Capitol Theatre is hosting a screening of the documentary “The Librarians.” Both a call to action and cautionary tale, the film explores the growing wave of book challenges and bans across North America, and highlights the librarians, community members, and young readers standing up for intellectual freedom and the freedom to read.
Starting today, residents can sign up for hands-on learning with CKPL’s How-To Festival. Register for free ‘grab-and-go’ craft kits, including candy sushi, woven star ornaments, and reusable bags, or sign up for in-person workshops. Kits can be picked up at any branch location in Chatham-Kent, starting October 19th.
For more information or to register for a grab-and-go kit, call 519-354-2940, text 519-401-7174, or email cklibrary@chatham-kent.ca.
