Celebrating the Sisters of St Joseph

As the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance moves to a single hospital corporation governing two sites, they are celebrating a long-standing organization.

Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive Lisa Northcott says a celebration of the Sisters of St. Joseph’s and the St. Joseph’s Health Care Society is happening this afternoon.

“At 1pm we’ll be celebrating a mass in our chapel at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (Chatham Campus,) followed by a celebration of legacy in our Cafe Grand,” Northcott says. “We’ll have a slide presentation just to highlight the history of 125 years of service.”

The Sisters of St Joseph founded Chatham’s first hospital in 1890.

Northcott says they chose March 19th because it’s St. Joseph’s Day.
