The Maple Leaf Cemetery Bridges are safe, thanks to a decision by Council to protect them.
One bridge will remain open to traffic, while the other will be revamped for pedestrian use only.
Councillor Doug Sulman says he’s pleased with the result.
“It affects a lot of people in this community, and we’ve now done the right thing,” The Ward Six representative says. “Those bridges will be preserved, which are part of our architectural heritage, and people will also be able to drive their cars over the other bridge so they can access parts of the cemetery.”
The budget for the repairs is $305,000 with an estimated completion date of September 2017.
