One day after a kangaroo on the loose caught the eye of residents in Howard Township, Provincial Police say a similar report in Lambton County was a false alarm.

Chatham-Kent Police reported on Wednesday that a kangaroo had been spotted on Reeder’s Line after escaping from nearby Greenview Aviaries, but was captured and safely returned to the roadside zoo.

A few hours later, OPP took to social media, saying authorities in Lambton had received a report of a similar sighting on Douglas Line. A second post announced the photo sent to the OPP was of the same animal previously captured in Chatham-Kent, and public mischief charges were being considered against the person who filed the report.
