A 31-year-old Chatham man is in trouble after being caught with a stolen weapon.

Chatham-Kent Police say an officer pulled over a truck on King Street East last night after recognizing the man who was known to be prohibited from driving.

The officer noticed a gun case in plain view in the back of the truck, and discovered a loaded rifle inside.

Through investigation, police identified the rifle as one stolen from a property in Chatham two months ago.

A stolen boat motor was also found.

The man, who is also prohibited from possessing any weapon, ammunition, or explosive device, is facing multiple charges.
