A local man is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle crash in Tupperville.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a pickup truck left the road on Glasgow Line at around 5:20 p.m. on Thursday before hitting a tree and coming to a stop 10 feet down an embankment, near a river.
EMS arrived at the scene and located the driver nearby, however, he refused to be taken to the hospital.
When the driver showed signs of impairment, he was arrested and taken to police headquarters for further tests.
As a result, a 29-year-old Dresden man is now charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was later released with conditions and a February court date.
