A Wheatley man is facing several charges in connection with a disturbance late last week.
Shortly before 10 o’clock Friday night, Chatham-Kent Police were called about an assault in Wheatley, during which a woman was shoved into a fence, suffering minor injuries.
The accused fled the scene before officers arrived, but was later arrested by provincial police in Essex County.
Essex OPP have charged the 45-year-old with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Assault Peace Officer. The accused was then transferred to the custody of Chatham-Kent Police, and has been handed an additional charge of assault.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
