Charges have been laid after someone allegedly stole a cat.
Last Friday, police were called to a Chatham home, where a woman claimed her neighbour had taken her cat.
Through the investigation, police spotted the cat in the neighbour’s home and spoke to the home-owner to try to find a peaceful resolution, but say the second woman refused to cooperate.
Photos, OSPCA documents, and the cat’s micro-chip information helped to identify the filched feline and yesterday it was returned to its rightful owner.
A 51-year-old woman is now charged with theft and possession of stolen property and will have to appear in court December 2nd.
