Charges Laid in Dover Township Crash

Impaired charges have been laid after a crash in Dover Township.

Emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle collision on Maple Line around 8:30 Wednesday night and say the truck rear-ended the car ahead of it. The car then left the road and slammed into a hydro pole.

The person behind the wheel of the car was taken to hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

The truck driver was treated at the scene by paramedics. Police suspected the man may have been drinking and brought him to headquarters for tests.

The 60-year-old has since been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and will have to answer to a judge later this month.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone who might have information is asked to contact Constable Kristen Charron with the CK Police Traffic Management Unit at at kristenc@chatham-kent.ca or 519-355-1092.
