A 40-year-old man is in custody in connection to a vicious daytime assault of a senior citizen.
Police accuse David Chop of punching a 63-year-old man hard enough to fracture his larynx.
The assault took place on May 7th around 3:30 in the afternoon.
The victim was helping a motorcyclist at the time at the intersection of Grand Ave. and Ursuline Ave.
There’s no word on what sparked the attack. The man had to be airlifted to hospital for emergency surgery in London.
Chop, a Chatham resident, is facing charges of aggravated assault.
