A South Kent Councillor wants to know if having on and off ramps at the Charing Cross overpass is possible. 
Karen Herman says next year’s scheduled construction is an opportunity to add 401 access as well.
“the 401 Charing Cross Road overpass is going to be closed in 2018, starting in June, for three months,” Herman explains. “There’s an opportunity for discussion that we hope we can sit down with the MTO and say let’s look at opportunities and possibilities of an off-ramp.”
Council is sending a letter to the Ministry of Transportation to set up a meeting.
The issue has been raised numerous times over the years as a way to increase traffic coming into Chatham-Kent and potentially drive economic development, but has never gone past the discussion stage.
