An annual charity gala in support of end-of-life care in Chatham-Kent is returning for its sixth year.
The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation’s Benefit Gala will take place at The Chatham Armoury on October 20.
Attendees will be treated to a gourmet meal prepared by The Chilled Cork and an opportunity to bid in live and silent auctions. Supporters will also have the chance to win a .50-carat diamond from Ridgetown’s Mitton’s Jewellers.
Another feature of the annual gala is the Hospice Heart Story, which will be shared by a local family that has utilized the services of the local hospice.
“[The] gala is a chance for all of us to come together and celebrate the amazing work being done at our hospice day in and day out,” said fundraiser chair Ginny Hawken. “We get to share, remember our loved ones and ensure Hospice continues to operate at no cost to local families in their time of need.”
Proceeds raised through the fundraiser will support the Chatham-Kent Hospice’s 10-bed facility. Over 60 per cent of the hospice’s annual operating budget is covered by donations.
Last year the event raised approximately $98,000.
