Chatham-Kent Cashes Gambling Cheque

The first full quarterly payment from the new Cascades Casino has been deposited into Chatham-Kent’s account.

All told the non-tax gaming revenue from October 1st to December 31st amounts to a hair over $400,000. That’s compared to $238,000 for the same quarter last year.

The annual increase is expected to be around $600,000, and the 2020 draft budget is recommending that money be put into various community initiatives and events.

The new Cascades Casino opened in July.

In the last 20 years the OLG has sent more than $12-million to the municipality.
