CEO Lori Marshall says since opening last week, the local assessment centre has screened 127 patients with 23 meeting the criteria to be swabbed for the virus.
Marshall adds that the majority of those individuals were sent home from the assessment centre. Of the 127, only four were sent to the emergency department for further investigation and follow up.
The CKHA continues to have just one positive patient in hospital, while C-K’s other three confirmed cases are at home in self-isolation.
The positive case in hospital is one of the initial two cases confirmed in Chatham-Kent.
Dr. David Colby, Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health has confirmed to 99.1 that the patient in hospital remains in the intensive care unit. The remaining initial case is doing well and remains home in self-isolation according to Dr. Colby.
The CKHA also currently has a total of 15 patients who are admitted throughout the hospital who have been swabbed and are awaiting results.
Marshall says there are 100 hospital staff and 17 physicians who are currently under self-quarantine because of recent travel.
The hospital is currently sitting at around 70% occupancy.
