Chatham Man Charged with Assaulting 3 Officers

A 35 year old Chatham man is behind bars after police say he assaulted three officers on Friday night. Chatham-Kent police were called to a home on Gray Street around 6:30 because a man was inside the home destroying property.

When police attempted to take the man into custody he kicked one officer and spit on 2 others. The man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.

He is being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
