Child luring charges have been laid against a Chatham man.
Police launched an investigation in October following a complaint of a man trying to solicit explicit images from a teenage girl through fake social media accounts.
Authorities believed the suspect lived in Chatham-Kent because of his knowledge of the area, and through various investigative techniques, police were able to identify the man and made an arrest last Thursday.
The 40-year-old is charged with luring a child to make child pornography and luring a child to commit sexual interference. He was transported to police headquarters and later released on multiple conditions and a future court date.
Chatham-Kent Police say no further information will be released to protect the victim’s identity as the investigation continues.
