
A two-vehicle crash in Thamesville has claimed the life of a Chatham man.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an SUV that was travelling on Orford Road shortly before 3:45 p.m. on December 29 failed to stop for a stop sign at Selton Line and was struck by a pickup truck.
The driver of the SUV, an 81-year-old Chatham woman, was taken to hospital with minor injuries, while the passenger, a 63-year-old Chatham man, was rushed to hospital and later transferred to Windsor Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old Ridgetown man, was not injured in the crash.
Police were notified on Thursday that the passenger had succumbed to his injuries.
