A Chatham man is $100,000 richer after winning a lottery windfall through the scratch portion of an Instant Pinko ticket.
Peter Gatfield said he sometimes treats himself to a lottery ticket when stopping by a convenience store, and this is his first big win.
“I went home to play my ticket and when I revealed I won $100,000, I thought it was a joke. I screamed,” he said in a news release. “I just held my ticket and stared at it.”
The 41-year-old construction worker said he plans to use some of the money to take a vacation overseas.
The winning ticket was purchased at Queen’s Variety and Laundromat on Queen Street in Chatham.
