Chatham Resident Arrested for Shoplifting in Leamington

A Chatham resident is facing charges following a shoplifting incident in Leamington.

Provincial Police were called after an employee at an Erie Street South business witnessed the theft.

Officers found the accused at a nearby business, and also say the suspect was carrying illicit drugs.

The 37-year-old is charged with theft under $5000, two counts of drug possession, and obstructing a peace officer.

The accused will face the charges in court in the new year.
