Employees at a Chatham retirement home have a new contract in place.

Workers at Maple City Retirement Residence, represented by Southwestern Ontario Healthcare and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303, recently voted 94 percent in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement.

The new contract includes general wage increases of 3.5 percent each year, along with a special wage adjustment for resident service attendants. Employees will also see enhanced dental coverage and other monetary improvements.

The agreement covers 25 employees, including resident service attendants, activity aides, housekeepers, dining services attendants, maintenance workers, and cooks.
