Chatham Township Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A slew of charges, including attempted murder, have been laid against a Chatham Township man after an incident in Pain Court.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Section were on Pain Court Line as part of a back-to-school safety campaign Wednesday afternoon when a grey Mazda allegedly attempted to hit one of the officers, then sped off.

The officer in question was able to move out of the way.

The suspect vehicle was eventually stopped on Irwin Street in Chatham and the driver arrested.

The 28-year-old is facing a total of 15 charges:

He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
