A Chatham woman is facing several charges after a combative interaction with police.
Authorities responded to a complaint about a family dispute in Chatham last night – an intoxicated woman was accused of punching another family member.
But while speaking with the arresting officer, the woman allegedly threatened to punch him in the face and then spat on him.
She was taken to police headquarters, but as she was being put into a holding cell, authorities say she spat on another officer.
The 28-year-old is now facing charges of assault, uttering threats, and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
