A hit and run in Chatham has landed a local woman with charges.
Police responded to a crash on Grand Avenue East near St Clair Street shortly after 11 o’clock Tuesday morning and say the suspect hit a northbound vehicle, then fled the scene. However, a witness made note of the license plate and vehicle description.
The accused was tracked down on Michener Road and taken to police headquarters for tests.
The 34-year-old has since been charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, and failing to stop after a collision. She was released with conditions and a date in court later this month.
