Police have released the name of a 22-year-old woman who was found dead inside a burned-out home in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the body of Bayli Sellars was discovered by firefighters on June 25 after they extinguished a blaze at 149 Edgar Street at around 4 a.m.
Police said Sellars was a resident of the home.
While no further information has been released regarding the cause of the fire or Sellars’ cause of death, police said the Chatham-Kent Police Major Crime Section has been actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the blaze. The Ontario Fire Marshalls Office has also been called in to investigate.
