Today marks the beginning of Cherryfest in Blenheim. 
According to chairperson J P Huggins, the annual event runs through Saturday and features tonnes of great activities including carnival rides, karaoke, best dressed pet contest, and of course all things cherry.
“Cherry Central, right in the centre of town, is run by the Blenhiem Youth Centre, and they do cherry waffle boats,” Huggins says. “The Word of Life Church is doing a bake sale and they’re going to have fresh sweet cherries there as well from Delhaven Orchards down the road. We have the cherry pit spit, we have the cherry pie eating contest Friday night.”
CherryFest runs through Saturday in downtown Blenheim.
