Child Luring Charges Laid in Wallaceburg

A Wallaceburg man has been arrested as part of a child sexual exploitation investigation.

A search warrant was carried out at a Wallaceburg home last Thursday, March 5th, by officers from the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Unit with support from Elgin County OPP, Chatham-Kent Police, and the OPP Digital forensics Unit.

A number of electronic devices were seized at the scene and, as a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old man was arrested.

The accused has been charged with luring a person under the age of 18 by means of telecommunication, and luring a person under the age of 16 by means of telecommunication.

The man was released from custody following a bail hearing, and will be back in court next month.
