A pair of local organizations are being given a financial boost, thanks to a recent golf tournament.
The 6th annual CK Charity Classic was held at Willow Ridge Golf and Country Club on August 15.
Last week, funds were handed out to this year’s beneficiaries, including the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent, which will be using $10,000 to allow another 2500 children to receive free books through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
$15,271 is being donated to the Wheatley Village Resource Centre to continue its support of the community and the installation of a new PA system to help facilitate workshops and community events.
Organizers of the CK Charity Classic have also announced the recipients for next year’s tournament. Another $10,000 has been earmarked for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, plus an estimated $20,000 for LinCK Child, Youth, and Family Supports.
