CK COVID-19 Cases See Decline, Two School Outbreaks Over


Chatham-Kent’s overall COVID numbers saw a slight decline today.

Public Health’s daily report for Friday includes 21 new infections and 32 cases resolved, lowering the active caseload to 132.

There are eight outbreaks across the municipality, including six elementary schools, 18 cases linked to a recent wedding, and 15 at a manufacturing plant. Outbreaks at Tilbury Area Public School and Dresden Area Central School were declared over today.

There are currently 10 people being treated for COVID-19 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Seven of the patients are not fully vaccinated and three are in the intensive care unit. As well, 13 CKHA staff members are currently off work after testing positive for COVID-19 or due to an exposure.

And in Ontario, the province is reporting 3,124 new COVID-19 cases today and five deaths related to the disease.
