CK COVID Cases Holding Steady

No change in Chatham-Kent’s overall COVID numbers today.

Public Health is reporting 6 new cases and 6 resolutions, holding the total active caseload steady at 36. There are still two active outbreaks in the community – the medicine unit at the Health Alliance with five confirmed caess, and an un-named workplace.

The Ministry of Health is reporting 2363 new cases province-wide today and another 26 deaths linked to the virus.

Another milestone for Chatham-Kent’s vaccination efforts. Public Health has now surpassed 40,338 total doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the municipality. That includes the mobile clinics, shut-ins, long term care and retirement homes, and the mass vaccination clinic at the Bradley Centre.

In all, 38,651 residents have received at least their first dose through Public Health. As well, another 2400 doses of AstraZeneca were administered through local pharmacies and primary care providers before being pulled by the province earlier this week.
