The number of new COVID-19 infections in Chatham-Kent appear to be on the decline.
In its weekly update, CK Public Health statistics show 62 new cases reported between December 4th and the 10th, with a seven-day average of 9 new high-risk cases a day.
The numbers are an underestimate of the true caseload across the municipality because of limitations on PCR testing.
Chatham-Kent’s positivity rate sits at 10.9%, down from 11.4% last week. The provincial rate is 11.6%.
There are two active COVID outbreaks, including 7 cases at St Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge in Chatham since November 29th. An outbreak was declared at Tilbury Manor Nursing Home on December 5th, with a total of 25 infections reported.
