Residents on Caledonia Rd outside of Chatham are calling on the provincial government to fix their water issues.
Angie Leveille says the family well went bad just days after a nearby turbine was activated.
“Four days after those turbines were turned on, our clean, problem free water contained black sediment,” Leveille says. “Water that was ruined because our ability to make decisions on what was right for us was taken away, our rights and our water were taken away by policies that were put in motion by the Liberal Party of Ontario, continued by Premier Kathleen Wynne and the MOECC.”
Contrary to what was done in the past, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change now says that Samsung will not be required to provide any temporary water until consultants have found the company at fault for any impact on the well.
Meantime, another family affected by well contamination received a call from Pattern Energy earlier this week wanting to set a date for another well assessment and a time to remove the temporary tank they were given.
