A group of local organizations has formed a coalition to help drive growth and competitiveness in Chatham-Kent.
Led by the Kent Federation of Agriculture, the Chatham-Kent Growth Alliance has been established as a collaborative voice for eight organizations that collectively drive economic activity, job creation, food production, housing development, and investment throughout the municipality.
These groups include the Grain Farmers of Ontario (District 2), the CK Essex Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario, the CK Property Rights Association, the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers, the CK Association of Realtors, the CK Home Builders Association, and the CK Chamber of Commerce.
“When agriculture, housing, business, and property owners speak with a unified voice, we can help create the conditions needed for sustainable growth and investment across Chatham-Kent,” said Carson Warrener, Director of the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors and Chatham-Kent Home Builders Association.
The alliance of organizations has identified four priorities that it believes are essential to Chatham-Kent’s success — meaningful consultation; fiscal responsibility and transparency; investment in critical infrastructure; and fair and sustainable taxation.
CKGA will be holding a Municipal Candidate Open House on September 9 at The Chatham Armoury to provide residents and stakeholders with an opportunity to meet mayoral and council candidates and learn more about their vision for the municipality’s future. The open house runs from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
