Health officials in Chatham-Kent are warning the public of possible measles exposure in the community.

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance said an individual infected with measles may have exposed community members to the virus at the Chatham hospital site.

Health officials said anyone at the Chatham Emergency Department between January 26 at 9 p.m. and January 27 at 2:30 a.m., or January 29 at 10 p.m. and January 30 at 5:30 a.m. may have been exposed.

Anyone who is not up to date on their vaccinations and was present at the hospital during these times is asked to call Chatham-Kent Public Health at 519-352-7270 ext. 5902.

Those with measles symptoms are asked to call ahead before visiting any public health care settings to avoid further exposure.
