CK Holding Public Meetings On 2026 Draft Budget

With deliberations set to take place next week, Chatham-Kent residents with questions or concerns are being given the chance to provide input on the 2026 draft budget.

The municipality will be hosting a virtual community open house session on Wednesday at 12 p.m. on the Chatham-Kent Facebook page. The live meeting will provide a brief summary of the annual budget update, and a chance for further public input with a live question-and-answer period.

A second virtual meeting will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The 2026 update to Chatham-Kent’s 2024-2027 multi-year budget was presented to council on November 5. The draft is currently proposing a tax increase of 4.92 per cent, which equates to an increase of $104 annually for the average household with a home valued at $100,000.

Budget deliberations will begin on Tuesday, November 25, in council chambers at the Civic Centre. All meetings can be attended in-person or livestreamed on YourTV CK’s YouTube Channel.
