Local residents who want to provide their input on Chatham-Kent’s proposed multi-year budget will get the chance to have their voices heard at two virtual public meetings this week.

The municipality will be holding the public consultation sessions on Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m. and Thursday from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Chatham-Kent’s Facebook Live feed.

Each session will include a live question and answer period.

Chatham-Kent is shifting to a multi-year budget for the first time, which will cover 2024-2027. The current draft budget presented by CK administration last week proposes an annual average tax increase of 7.82% over those four years. The proposed increase for 2024 would work out to 6.57%.

Budget deliberations will take place on November 28-30. December 5-6 have also been set aside if council requires additional time for deliberation.
