A volunteer for Chatham-Kent’s hospice has received provincial recognition for her compassionate service.
Sadie Bruette has been presented with the prestigious June Callwood Circle of Outstanding Volunteers Award, an honour that celebrates exceptional hospice volunteers across Ontario.
Officials with the CK Hospice described Bruette as compassionate and humble, adding that she quietly helps create a sense of warmth and reassurance for those whose moments are often filled with worry, grief, and uncertainty.
“Sadie represents the very best of hospice volunteering,” said Hospice Executive Director Jessica Smith in a news release. “Her kindness, empathy, and unwavering commitment create a welcoming environment where residents, families, and visitors feel seen, supported, and cared for. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized with this well-deserved honour.”
Named in honour of renowned journalist, author, and social activist June Callwood, this award celebrates volunteers whose compassion and generosity strengthen hospice organizations and enrich the lives of those they serve.
