The first day of municipal nominations ended with a half dozen people throwing their hats into the ring for a couple of different jobs. 
Darrin Canniff and Alysson Storey filed their paperwork to enter the mayoral race.
Mayor Randy Hope has declared his intention to run for re-election, but after the first day of nominations, had not filed the required paperwork.
Nick Cadotte filed for a councillor seat in Wallaceburg, Chris June filed for the same in Chatham.
Henry Svec has filed for South Kent, as has Frank Vercouteren, the first incumbent to announce.
Chatham-Kent residents head to the polls October 22nd.
